What is the criteria?
Incoming Freshman
- High School GPA > 2.75, plus Math & Science GPA > 2.75
- National SAT Math > 500, SAT Verbal > 500
- Must be admitted and enrolled as a full time student (12 or more semester hours) at Kennesaw State University
- Placed in Collegiate Math
- Plans to major in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) Subjects
- Must be a citizen or permanent resident of the United States
- Must be an underrepresented minority in STEM as defined by the National Science Foundation (African American, Native American, Hispanic American, Alaskan Native, and Native Pacific Islander.)
All Other Student Classifications
- Declared STEM Major
- Cumulative GPA > 2.75 (Hope Scholar > 3.0 Preferred)
- Major GPA > 2.75 (or Math & Science GPA > 2.75)
- Full-Time Student status (12 or more credit hours)
- Must be a citizen or permanent resident of the United States of America
- Must be an underrepresented minority in STEM as defined by the National Science Foundation (African American, Native American, Hispanic American, Alaskan Native, and Native Pacific Islander.)

What are the expectations?
- You must have every intention of graduating from one of the participating universities in no more than 5 years with a baccalaureate degree in a STEM major.
- You will be required to attend all assigned workshop sessions and to participate actively.
- You will be expected to participate in a service project.
- You must remain a full-time student (12 credit hours or more).
- It is preferred that you work no more than 15 hours per week, preferably in a job related to the field of your study.
- You must maintain a > 2.75 cumulative AND semester GPA.
Your record will be reviewed on a semester basis, and the level of support will be determined largely by progress toward your degree (GPA and hours completed each semester).
